Special Children’s Messages
Sundays during Worship

For the 4 Sundays of Advent (12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 12/24), there will be a wonderful treat from our Sr. High Youth!  They will be sharing special children’s messages up front on the stairs and altar area about the gift of presence. These will be interactive with the children so when they come up front for the children’s message, they will sit in the very front pew on the left side (pulpit side where Pastor Alison is) to be able to see. Come and see what the youth have in store for this year!

Give Christmas Hope
and Cheer
Donations due to “Longview” bin in the narthex by Sunday, December 10

Once again this year, Lansing United will be supporting the Longview residents in assisted living by providing “comfy items” & activities such as cozy socks, slippers, blank notecards, crossword puzzle books, scarves (both indoor and outdoor), shawls, large print books, Kleenex, picker-uppers, toiletries, bags (any size), mugs, magnifying glass, journal, sun catchers, plush stuffed animals, calendars, and dried flower bouquets. Longview is Enhanced Assisted Living for older adults, and some may not get a visit for the Christmas season. These gifts from our congregation bring comfort and joy.

The Giving Tree
Donations due Sunday, December 10

There are still some gift and need tags on the Giving Tree in the narthex that specify clothing and toys for those in need in our community.  Thank you to all who have chosen tags and returned their gifts.  There is a notebook on the stand next to the tree for you to sign letting us know what tag(s) you took.  If you might have missed this, please let Debbie Geise know which tag you have at children@lansingunited.org.  Please return your gift(s) with the tag attached to the collection bin by Sunday, December 10.  Your gift tag will tell you whether or not to wrap your item. Your support brings hope and joy to Lansing families, some of which struggle to pay the bills. Our gift to them is providing parent-suggested gifts for their children, including clothes.

Finger Lakes Residential Center Christmas Gift Drive
Donations due to labeled bin in the narthex by Sunday, December 17

Lansing United will be collecting Christmas gifts for the 65 young men for whom this congregation helped provide Thanksgiving dinner. They are ages 12-18, living in a secure facility for adjudicated juvenile delinquents. This is a list of gift ideas. Please do your shopping by Dec. 17 and place gifts in the labeled bin in the narthex. Please DO NOT wrap the gifts; this will be done by facility staff member, Dee Cooper. Any questions? Contact Laura Alexander.
