Longest Night Communion Service

Holidays can be hard when we don’t actually feel merry and bright

This Friday, December 20 at 6:00PM,  Lansing United Methodist Church will provide a Longest Night service of Holy Communion and Candlelighting. It’s a time to acknowledge the realities of grief and sadness at the holidays, an opportunity for grieving some of the losses in our lives. As we acknowledge our human loss and pain, we are reminded that there is still a light that shines in the darkness. We are not alone. We hear again Jesus’ promise: “in this world, you will have troubles, but take heart! I have overcome the world” (John 16:33)
