The members of LUMC Prayer Shawl Ministry put their faith into action through their love of craft. Prayer shawls, sometimes called “peace” or “comfort” shawls, have a long faith history, and the blessings of the knitter or crocheter for the shawl recipient are part of each and every stitch.
The LUMC group creates prayer shawls, both knitted and crocheted, that are given to persons our church family knows to be in need of prayers and comfort due to life events such as health issues, grief over loss of a loved one, or loss of a job. We also give shawls in celebration of happy occasions such as baptisms!
The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the first Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. in the Library. Meetings may be rescheduled due to holidays, check the LUMC calendar (click on Calendar in sidebar) to verify meeting dates.
