A Six Week Discussion of The Third Day:  Living the Resurrection by Tom Berlin

The Resurrection is not just a historical event, but an assurance for Jesus’ followers, then and now, that God offers hope, new life, and God’s presence not only in our brightest moments, but also our darkest.  What does that look like in our lives?  Starting this Sunday, we can get insight by seeing what it looked like to those who experienced it firsthand, using The Third Day: Living the Resurrection by Tom Berlin as our guide.  Bishop Berlin “has an extraordinary ability to connect our lives with the characters of the Bible.”   We’re very excited about this opportunity to explore the hope of living the Resurrection together!

Preview of Week One:  April 12th

How does Mary Magdalene’s resurrection experience encourage us today?  Our truest experience of the Resurrection comes at the lowest points of our lives, not the highest.  Mary’s walk with Jesus, and service as an apostle to the apostles, illustrates how Jesus can shine light into our darkness, our brokenness and lead us to wholeness.

Here’s What to Expect:  Each weekly session will include the opportunity to watch an overview video at 10:50 in the Asbury room, followed by gathering at 11:00 for discussion of Biblical texts  & The Third Day chapter, and related activities to underscore the themes for each session.

Thank you for setting aside this hour for sacred conversation together!
